Chengdu Attraction Tickets via WeChat & Alipay (2026)
Last verified
Last checked: 3 November 2026. Every rule below comes from the attraction's own official website or notice, with its date. Where we couldn't find an official statement, we write not confirmed. Prices and rules change, so the attraction's official channel has the final say.
🎫 Reserve first with your passport, and bring the original passport to enter. Almost all of Chengdu's popular attractions require real-name reservation in advance. This is a tip from a Chengdu local, and it matches the official rules of all four sites below. Book online with your passport number, then carry the same original passport on the day. Walk-up tickets may not be sold, or may sell out.

Photography: a calm safety note
China, including the Chengdu area, has military facilities and some research institutions. You can pass by them normally, but don't photograph or film them, and obey any "no photography" (禁止拍照) signs. Under China's Military Facilities Protection Law (revised 2021), Article 17 bans photographing, filming, recording, surveying or describing military restricted zones without approval. Article 22 requires approval from the managing unit to photograph military administrative zones. Under Article 60, ignoring a warning can lead to a public-security penalty (full text, NPC, 10 Jun 2021). Drone flights need their own permissions.
FAQ
Do I need a Chinese phone number? Not confirmed officially for each mini-program. WeChat and Alipay themselves accept foreign numbers (see our apps guide). If a channel rejects you, the Panda Base lists Trip.com among its authorised platforms (Panda Base).
Can I just buy at the gate? Don't count on it. The Panda Base sells at the window only when tickets remain and you genuinely can't pay online (Panda Base). Jinsha says that if a slot is full, you can't enter even on site (Jinsha, 8 Jul 2023).
Can I book for my travel companions? Yes, but each person needs their own passport details on the order. Each ID gets one ticket per day (Panda Base; Wuhou Shrine).
I'm 60 or older. Is entry free? It depends on the site. At the Panda Base, visitors 60+ enter free without booking and show ID (Panda Base). At Jinsha, Du Fu Cottage and Wuhou Shrine, the free senior rules name Chinese ID cards, HK/Macao/Taiwan permits or Foreign Permanent Resident ID cards; a passport is not listed. Assume you'll need a normal ticket.
Which payment works? WeChat Pay inside WeChat channels, and Alipay or WeChat Pay for Jinsha. To link a foreign card, see our payments guide.
Why "not confirmed" in places? We only state what the attraction officially publishes. Everything else, such as English menus, may change without notice.
